    Adaptive Suspension System

I'm waiting for a software fix. That's step 1. If none becomes available I'll think about changing the shocks. But adaptive shocks usually vary the duty cycle of the valving that is either super soft or super stiff. stiff would be modulated at a frequency of say 50 hz with a duty cycle of...

    Brembo Brakes Feel Rough

Fantastic info guys. My rotors are probably not going to settle in as they seem to be less pulsing or grinding than they were a week ago. But the explanations are very insightful and I buy them as a technical gay. That's mechanically technical as opposed to a tech guy as in software...

    Adaptive Suspension System

mldavis2, and all others that mention the Stinger is not a track car when discussing the poor review I give the suspension: I know it's not a track car. I know a soft cushy suspension can be fine in Germany and Korea, and even on I79 north of Pittsburgh. But here in Ontario Canada, where the...

    Kia Stinger Eibach Lowering Springs

Scarboro Kia (that's the way they spell it) in Scarborough (aka Toronto). They ordered the springs form Marcor Automotive in Burlington ON. The kit works great and stiffens the back just right. Small tar strips soften up relative to stock. Perfect balance.

    Brembo Brakes Feel Rough

Hi All. I notice a roughness in the brakes when I apply them. Not a shimmy like warped rotors. Not a grind like damaged pads. But not smooth. I'm used to brakes feeling as smooth as glass. These brakes feel as smooth as saw cut lumber. Any others having this experience?

    Shifting into Manual Mode

BTW: The transmission is spectacular in auto mode in sport mode.

    Shifting into Manual Mode

Not buying any of this guys. At no point in time can I decide to stay in a gear without changing the gear. At no point can I stay in manual mode without being surprised by a shift at some point because I haven't revisited the owner's manual to remind me of the plethora of logical gates that...

    Ground clearance on lowered suspension

The short front overhang reduces the issue of front clearance for driveways and curbs. So I didn't need to change my driving style but my previous SAAB was also lowered and with a much longer front overhang. The real problem is drive through car washes. I've successfully used a few now and...

    Shifting into Manual Mode

Hey man. I want it to go into manual when I hit the paddle and not come out unless I tell it to. I know it reverts to auto no matter what in any mode. For it to behave differently depending on the mode is not logical. But I'll see if that is the case. I drive in sport most of the time but I...

    Shifting into Manual Mode

Mine is inconsistent. Sometimes it stays in manual mode after a stop. But very rarely. It keeps defaulting to auto mode and I've tried everything including shifting to D and holing it or shifting to D twice while stopped or downshifting to 1 while stopped (then it will take off in manual but...

What's your Kia Stinger suspension plan?

I'm waiting for the settings to be uploaded by the alignment equipment manufacturer. The dealer that installed my Eibach's said that would be in March. I've been driving with no adjustments for a month now and the car tracks straight so it's okay for a while. But I'll do the 4 wheel alignment...

    Kia Stinger Eibach Lowering Springs

The struts up front need to be removed. What you describe applies for the back. In both cases you need a tool called a spring compressor instead of a pry bar etc...

    Kia Stinger Eibach Lowering Springs

Springs are easy to replace withe the right tools and a hoist. Hence I took it to the dealer. All the dork is done from under the car on the hoist.

    Kia Stinger Eibach Lowering Springs

Thanks Drabon74. I'm very happy. I removed the front license plate as well and with the blacked out chin spoiler it is, if I say so myself, the nicest car on the road. :-)

What's your Kia Stinger suspension plan?

There are a lot of dependencies on an imperceptible shift happening. And they happen a lot. Do they happen all the time? No. That's because of variations in the variables. I find the tranny in sport is amazing. In comfort, practical, in eco too slow to downshift. But use the modes as they...

    Shifting into Manual Mode

My manual mode would be used for cruising among tall buildings at 20 to 30 km/hr and listening to the sweet sounds of the mill under the hood. Pure boyish play. I agree the tranny shifts beautifully for power driving on two lanes. As I've experimented lately, it automatically shifts better...

    Shifting into Manual Mode

This is a general request to all ECU hackers: HELP! The Stinger needs a real manual mode. Pull on both paddles to go into manual (without shifting), pull on both to go back to automatic.

What's your Kia Stinger suspension plan?

Trust me. There is no body roll worth mentioning. Alas, the tranny nanny is also a problem. Waiting on a software patch for that. These early adopter issues I'm okay with because I'm glad they made the car. The market needed it and they are/were scared they wouldn't sell any. With the...

What's your Kia Stinger suspension plan?

In answer to your question, the springs are too soft. Plain and simple. The shocks are too soft. Plain and simple. I stiffened the springs and the majority of the problem is solved, but stiffer shocks yet would improve more. Suspension is complicated and dynamic. I have 7 years OEM...

What's your Kia Stinger suspension plan?

Hey benjaminearle, I installed a set of Eibach's and it solved 90% of the problem. I'm very happy with the car overall now as the springs are softer in the first inch of travel (yes for a ride improvement) and way stiffer for the rest of the travel which means high resistance to too much...
